Established over 50 years ago, the Wicklow Heather Restaurant is a family run establishment in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains.
The Wicklow Heather Restaurant, a family run establishment offers a blend of traditional Irish and continental cuisine. Enjoy breakfast, morning coffee, a light snack, lunch or dinner.
Choose from our a la carte lunch and dinner menus as well as a varied selection of daily specials. All our dishes are freshly prepared using locally sourced organic produce where possible.The Wicklow Heather signature dishes include slow roasted leg of Wicklow lamb served on a bed of creamed mashed potato and market vegetables with a rich rosemary jus. From our dinner menu, why not try our steamed fillet of cod, with sauteed baby potatoes, chicory & mango and chilli salsa, or our crunchy parmesan chicken with spring onion champ mash, Clonakilty black pudding, smoked gubbeen & belly bacon stuffing in a creamy wild mushroom sauce. Also on our menu is our very popular roast rump of Wicklow lamb with creamy gratin potato, parsnip puree & balsamic roasted shallots. All of our lamb is supplied by our local butcher in Arklow, Co. Wicklow, and is all fully traceable from farm to fork.
Wicklow heifer beef and lamb sourced locally from the village of Aughrim and Wicklow venison from Glenmalure, are all fully traceable from farm to fork. Indulge yourself with one of our mouth-watering homemade desserts, maybe a warm chocolate brownie with caramel sauce and vanilla ice-cream or try a selection of Irish cheeses.
The well-chosen wine list includes a wide range of champagnes and sparkling wines. There are also a number of cocktails and aperitifs included on our list.
Spend time in our Irish Writers Room which showcases first editions and original manuscripts from Irish literary giants such as WB. Yeats, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde and many more.
